A Different Light exhibition opening night
December 6, 2007 9:42 pm
Yep. Yesterday was the the big the huge day: A Different Light - SLart at the Cannery’s 2nd Second Life photography exhibition - officially opened its doors. As usual, it was a stressy few days before that, and I want to thank all who’s helped and put up with me during that period. Ow, and the person that sedated me with whisky. :p
Things I regret:
- Merchandise & RL art book not finished in time. But we’re working on that!
- The opening party being held at Toxic and not on the Cannery gallery roof. Although I like the looks of the toxic ladies hanging out there - they make amazingly interesting models - I prefer the Cannery Roof as party location: being able to party and alt-camming the art at the same time is way nicer. Now the party ’split up’ to early, half the crowd went to see the art, the other half stayed to party.

- Focussing on the joy of snapshotting to much. That lead to me not participating in the conversation(s) all to much. But I did have some interesting ones, for instance about Little Venkman’s future art school career. But I did get some kick-ass photographs.
- That I decided to do the smart thing and went to bed on time. Missed most of the party, that means. :(
- Being ‘caught
red handedruthed’. But we’re working on that. I’ll force Sho to take down the photograph. Else I’ll post her Nipplegate one for the whole of virtual worlds to behold!!! Yes, Sho, that’s a treath!
Nah well, what would a SLart at the Cannery party be without a snapshotting Vint?

ok..so move the party! We have the ocean containers area also!..and don’t forget about the voting..that still not ready also!
Reason to have another openning next week!
Thanks again to you and Sho! And all the artist for taking so many great photos!
Awesome! If you made some extra shirts, send ‘em over! ;-). And that guy in the long jacket kinda reminds me of Keats from Folklore… I love the nice avies you got there on that grid, Vint, can’t wait to move already! :-S.
Great photos of you.
RaR, I’m not standing on the same sim with Sho again until she takes down that dreaded photograph of me and makes a formal apology! I can’t believe you still want her in on this, after she’s shown us all what kind of avatar she is!
Smiley, yeah. I know. There’s a whole batch of stuff I still need to send to you. And it seems I would love that video game. He’s ‘mjummie’. :D
Seraphine, thank you! Unlike some other lady, I always do my best to take flattering pictures for the subjects.
@Vint: Yeah, it’s awesome :-D You can get on a plane this instant to play it on my, 40” High Definition LCD, surround sound system, and PlayStation 3! I love to brag about those things ‘^_^.
And, about sending, i’m currently looking to move to 013 from 012 (Haha, funny, huh?)… They got NO lag and packet loss! I mean, even Habbo Hotel characters move normally, and those never move normally from Israel!
Oops, forgot to add the last part:
So, I won’t be able to post them inworld for about a week to three weeks. So, take your time! ;-).

Yeah, I notice. If one day you own a plane, you may send it over to Zaventem or Ostend or Liege to pick me up and I’ll come and play. I suck at PSP3 games though. Actually, I such at all games except for SL, table soccer, Travian speed servers, monopoly, Colonists of Catan and Axis of Allies (the board game). :D
013 - 012 => That sounds like a downgrade! Although, 13 was never a lucky number. Was your internet even worse on Fridays? ;) Good luck with the move! I am officially allowed into the new apartment starting January 1st and the cable company is sending over someone January 2nd. I picked the third column, the same as I have now. I considered upgrading to the 4th column, but that is something I can still do later if I feel that’s needed. So that’s settled. First things first. Now need to find me a bed, refrigerator and lawn mower. =D
@Vint: Haha, you won’t at SIXAXIS games! The controller feels the exact rotation and movement locations, so, if you hold it in 30* to the left and 70* forward, it feels the exact rotation it’s in. There’s a game you have to tilt a bathtub to move rubber duckies, so you see the second you move the controller, the bathtub moves as well, and flicking the controller makes ‘em jump! ‘^_^. I’d love Second Life to have some type of sensitivity to it, that makes your avie “dance”, or walk, etc., based on the speed you move it up and down, right and left, and so on :-D.
Oh, and I forgot to say: i’m moving from 012 TO 013 or Bezeq, not the reverse way! ‘^_^.
And about your internet plan: OH MY GOD. The maximum here, is 10MB for people that have HOT (cable company), and 5MB for people that have Yes! (satellite company) Plus, people that want 7MB are tied to the horrible, lag-filled NetVision, and 10MB are tied to the EVEN MORE lag-filled 012… You try handling Second Life with a delay of 20000msec on an average day!
I love his hair, skin, sunglasses. specially skin, it’s so realistic! awesome! So I want it, could you tell me where can I buy it?
Maxxie, you’ll have to ask him yourself. You can find him commenting and trying to act casual. ;)
