akoha, come play it forward

Not Virtual World related, but a rather fun idea anyway: ‘Akoha is the world’s first social reality game where you can earn points by playing real-world missions with your friends. Missions might include giving someone your favourite book, inviting a friend for drinks, or buying a friend some chocolate.’
Each time you play a mission you earn “karma points”. Earn enough karma and you’ll be able to “level-up” to the next level. You can also earn karma for helping others play their missions forward. Adding videos, photos and stories to your missions earns you extra karma points. Your missions continue to earn points for you as long as they keep travelling.
There are 15 levels in all and you’ll need to earn a increasing level of karma to reach the next higher level. As you reach higher levels you’ll also need confirmations from others before you’ll be able to level-up. If you’re feeling creative, you can also create your own missions and track their progress as others play them around the world.
Sounds kinda neat, no? Out of curiosity, I ordered my free starter kit and applied for beta.

Cool, let us know how it goes?
[…] That intriguing news was back in September, so I signed up for a Starter Kit to check it out. It’s on its way, and I am looking forward to seeing how the company translates social media into the real world. Vint Falken explains in more detail about the premise, so might as well read it there. […]
Thanks for the kind words, Vint :). Looking forward to playing it forward with you!
Me too! I hear rumours that a huuuuge batch of cards was shipped, I assume those also included to ones with destination:Europe? :D
Shipment is going all over the world! We also have a new batch about to go out as well. You will likely get your starterkit soon (if not, email me directly and we’ll work something out ;) )
Héhé, thank you. I got a confirmation mail that it was shipped on - goes to check - November 12th. So I assume they are somewhere over the ocean right now, or stuck in a Belgian post office, which will release them and deliver them to my mailbox in the next week. So I will be fine. :D (I hope it contains a lot of coffee related cards! :D)
[…] support? The iTunes inSL logo design by VintLabs. (which I’m btw using as my first fulfilled Akoha mission, but more on that later) You like? Me kinda proud of it, so if you do not like, please formulate […]
