Second Life crashed. 2 seconds after I logged in. Which means all the nice Xmas whishes and all the pretty Xmas textures & gifts I received are _gone_. I did not have time to accept them. Does anybody know where they are now? Where does ‘unaccepted yet not refused’ stuff go when you crash? The wishes are in the chat logs - I hope -, but the inventory stuff? Did I ‘accept’ when crashing and can it be found in my inventory? Or do they go to some strange deserted inventory server? :/
PS. As cherry on the pie Christmas cake all my friends deserted me. Either that or they all turned into hippos. :(

Awww, Vinty! :-( Come here *gives a big warm hug* This may not count as a gift, but if you ever get your hands on a World of Warcraft box and install it, you get Platinum VIP for life on xWoW ‘^_^.
Or, I could just sneak you into our grid through the border? ^.^
Yeaaah! Should I put on my child avie disguise? ;)
I may be wrong, Vint, but I think that if you log out,, the items are accepted authomatically. Did you check your inventory?
Anyway, awwww… :-(
nope…. they’re lost in limbo…. I hate when that happen… and I hate that I have to deal with all the notices, offers and other top-right-blue stuff after I login… why cannot it be just thrown aside to be handled later?
time for another JIRA
Vint, lick the icing off of the cake of life and leave the candles burning.
Have a bite. Have a big bite.
The wax feels gooooooood.
And have an excellent new year.
Yeah, yeah, Crap. But amongst those wishes and gifts was a shopping coupon from Veyron!! *devastated plunges down on the meta-ground* Why, Linden Gods?! Why me?!!!? (Feels good to be back on normal ‘I disagree’ grounds with you, btw! ;))
PS. Wax NEVER feels good. Don’t let the BSDM scene fool you! ;)
London, I hope you are right and Dandellion and Crap are very very wrong. *goes to ask Veyron how it was called*
Dandellion, will you write up the JIRA? You definitely have my vote! (And those of my alts, the day I remember their names. I think one was called Veyron… *ponders a bit more* ;)
Things needed
- If not voted yes or no on keeping stuff, let’s assume I want to keep it.
- Handle offline messages and offers whenever we please. Or at least ask when booting if we want to handle them now.
- Stop capping of messages. Besides that it’s a good excuse, it’s just not useful. :p Just fix DB’s load capability.
and maybe an extra:
- Be able to handle those ‘do you wish to keep this’ or ‘do you wish to join’ and group notices WITHOUT having to log in with the client. On the website, that is. (Which takes away the load, as then we can do that during working hours! ;))
@Vint: Hell yeah, i’m voting for that one! I lost some inventory like that as well, and capping doesn’t do any good anyway — why not just propogate through the Mute list, and then into your email inbox? Or, an even better idea: If you know you have groups to accept or decline, inventory, etc., log into Second Life through AjaxLife first. That thing never crashes client-side :-D.
I found the gift certificate! So apparently when you crash, all stuff goes into the ‘objects’ folder? =D
Great! I was right and dande wrong! Great! dande was wroong, dande was wrooong and I was ri-i-i-ght!
Err…
I also like you found it back, of course :-p.
Thank you! :d (And congratz on being right! I love that you were right! ;))
Now only, what will we buy with it… :D
The exact same thing happened to me and I know I was damn happy as I found the things in my Objects folder afterwards!
Oh, and before I forget it: Happy new year!
Yup, I’ll start writing two JIRAs tonight.
And now I know why I had that strange feeling when met Vayron LOL

I’ll skip another one…. I need to talk to you inworld about that…. and to do a bit of research which I am already late with….
Ok… Will gmail do to in stead of in-world? :/
