I have had the amethyst collar in my inventory ever since Miss Grinning took me shopping. No occasion fit for using it, though. Until yesterday. Testing it was fun and hilarious, but nothing more. You don’t really think I want my males strapped down whilst whispering ‘Yes, Mistress’ with a very high toned feminine voice, do you? Although the bells and the belly dance did have their charmes. Someday I must learn the skills of ‘machinima’. *grins* But back into the inventory it goes, and it won’t come out enless a.) I need a kiss or hug attatchment and b.) I want to use some of the poses/animations for photography.

What arroused my curiosity? For starters the girls always playing around with those collars at Sisters. A second reason is that lately a lot of people stumbled on this blog seeking the amethyst collar’s manual or some more information on how to use it. Understandable, because I had to bother at least three people - one among them wasn’t that happy with me not offering him the collar - before I figured out how to set the primary owner. Let alone all those other commands. I did some mean things to my pet, and the only excuse I have is that I didn’t have the slightest clue what I was actually doing. *grins again* Tiffa made my SL Mistress-life a whole lot more comfortable by sending me the notecard with the commands. ‘Congratulations, you are now the owner of a submissive wearing the Amethyst Collar.’ So I’ve put both the sub’s and the master/mistress’ commands for the amethyst collar in a .html file. Have fun, but don’t invite me to come and play, please.

Owie, a quote about the amethyst collar and it’s influence on pets: ‘Amethyst helps control temperament and can enhance cooperation. These collars are absolutely amazing. I know because Mom got a couple of them for me.‘ (Ok, they used it in a non-avie context, but still… *grins*)

No photographs though. Courtesy to my ex-pet. ;)

I find the collar to be a useful hug/kiss attachment as well as a good place to store my purchased dances/animations and my AO animations.

A quick ‘tmhug Vint’ or ‘tmdizzy orchid’ will hug Vint or start the ‘dizzy orchid’ dance. The collar’s AO recognizes when its doing dance/hug animations and does the right thing by not interfering.

If you don’t like the fashion statement being made by the collar, there is a cheap add-on script you can buy for the collar that allows hide/show capability with a quick command. Or, you can strip the scripts and animations out and stick them into your favorite necklace and get all the functionality without having to look like you are into BDSM.

The nice thing about the collar is its colors can be changed to match any outfit. Try that with most other necklaces. :)

In general its just a nice place to stick all the animations I have and activate them without having to paw through my inventory and keep little windows open. If I forget the name of one, I can bring up the menu listing them all and look through it that way.

If you do not plan to be a fulltime or near fulltime pet, I highly recommend you don’t set the primary owner. Set yourself as one of the secondary owners and you have access to all of the functionality of the collar. As long as you haven’t set the primary owner, you can do anything you want. If you have already set a primary owner, you can change that with a command.

Mind you, I have never used the collar for anything other than hug, kiss, dance, and AO :)

I can also recommend the Amethyst ‘bracelets/anklets’ as nice matching accessories for your ‘necklace’ :) Changing the color on the collar, I mean necklace, also changes the colors on the braclets, guaranteeing you match.

Pieter, I’m going to take Tiessa’s advice and turn it into an AO. So don’t worry. Zoe, want to try mine? You activate it by typing .owner Vint Falken! ;)
