February’s SL Blogmeet - Nautical
February 27, 2008 10:32 am
Sunday was Second Life Blogmeet hosted by GoSpeed Racer-day and this meeting up at Sailor’s Cove was - as the lady says -, a success. I ended up staying waaay longer than I planned, IM’ing with people I talk not enough to on ‘regular’ days, getting to know new blogger’s, and doing all kind of crazy stuff.
Most in-theme Blogger and Flickerite was probably Mylena Aquitaine, who with the catfish-look took ‘nautical’ to a whole new level. She stood and danced bravely: defeating lag and ignoring all sushi-remarks. Alhough I have just meagre building skills, the lady deserved a decent fish tank, I thought. And in the end, well, she makes the whole bowl look good. ;) Runner up was probably our own personal mermaid that Veyron became for the occasion. A close match with Mr. Fugazi’s penguin.
New bloggers? Yes, as always people I did not meet in SL - or not even read about - showed up. Amongst others:
- Miss Pia Qi from the ‘Silks Caravanserai‘. No need to say, it’s all - or a lot - about lovely Silks?
- Tymmerie Thorne from Girl Wonder Speaks - she writes about the Blogmeet here in ’seamen all over the dancefloor’ -, pointed out to me by Casius Masala (his Flickr stream).
- Sofian from Second Life Sofian, who seems to be in the assumption I ate the fish. Well, I did not! Really! Honest! I like the fishies! ;)
And then there were also the ‘old SL bloggers fossiles’ present: Miss Zoe Connolly, Her Red Hawtness Codie, the lovely Lillie Yifu, Mr Wrath Paine, … . Noticeably missing from this Second Life Blogmeet were Miss Myg and Mister Alex. They claim illness as an excuse.
And we did not even go home empty handed: during the late hours, Mister Crap Mariner gave out clockworks and wind-up’s for all who favoured one. Yeey! I now feel fully automated and even more cute! ;) And Mr. Popinjay took me a lovely photograph. I look like one of the though, film noir girls here, no?

Correction: WE won the Stripper Contest
May 15, 2007 12:32 pmI was very wrong, I did not win the ‘Strip Search’ contest. Wrath and I did:
Anyway, I was able to log back on in time to help Vint win a contest? I don’t know about that, but I am anxiously awaiting the results!! (Of course I have a vested interest in this matter. Once again I voted for Vint in a contest, and I like to think my vote counts every once in a while! Also, I helped with wardrobe decisions. (She was just going to wear the tank top and skirt she had on, but I said no way, you can’t wear your street clothes on a dance pole! Get those gorgeous silks out, woman!)
And I made some pole decorations alterations. (She designed a really cool cage looking section which she placed on the ground around the pole - I told her she needed another one on top so it looked similar to a cage, plus would assure more attention was directed to that area of the floor.) Wow, I was really in touch with my feminine side today, huh? hehe. That’s okay, Tuesday I’ll be sure to have too much to drink, go around blowing stuff up and throw out random Hey Sexy’s to make up for it.)
Ok. Maybe I should credit Wrath too. A bit. And I so want to meet Wrath on Tuesday! ;)

W00t! Boy Bloggers on the block… euhm… grid! ;)
May 9, 2007 12:27 pmOk. I know. We have already some men doing - what you might call a good job at - the ‘blog about your Second Life’ thingie. But face it. We girls don’t want to talk about the same thing all the time. And if all your blog postings contain at least three of the following five key words: marketing, business, branding, launch, SLentering (<- some even claim that’s better then SLex! ;)), we might label you as boring after a while. *Right click, mark feed as read.* Except for Wrath and Alexander none of those men actually seem to _do_ something in SL.
I have good hopes that ‘the new guys’ will be blogging about things we girls actually care for like (clothing) design, cute Neko’s, animations and poses, building good looking stuff (which doesn’t necessarily needs to be jewelry or guns), guns, scripting (it may be about scripting other things then guns), exciting new Sims filled with adrenaline kicks, the escort business, community happenings and welfare, gigs, SLFlickr, … . Shortly put: everything that our Second Lives revolve around. (Did you notice I just sort of said that those Second Lifes _don’t_ revolve around being yet another target for marketers on the loose? And do note this down: whatever brand of condom you’re promoting, they sure as hell need to supply us with awesomely good Xcite before they will be able to convince us! ;)
What I actually wanted to say is, I <heart> the blogs from people actually _living_ their Second Lifes (creating stuff or just being good company and commenting on what others create) in stead of standing on the side lines sim edges watching and commenting upon the interesting phenomemon SL is said to be. That’s why I’m glad to see the following men joining our little ‘SL blogosphere’:
- Looker Lumet - Belgian, interested in SL photography, hangs out at the Paradise Lost club often. Hmmm… sounds familiar. I think I might be able to relate. :D
- DesertWolf Longstaff - I think he might not need an introduction anymore, but here we go anyway: the only person I’ve thinking of a - sort of - reasonable argument _pro_ voice in SL. Congratulations! ;)
- Raul Crimson - (Really) goodlooking furniture designer with a love for art.
- Gary Hazlitt - Ok, not new, blogging since August 2006 but went sort of blog-dead in Januari 2007. But he promises he’s back. That and he has a hell of an excuse for not blogging for that long.
- Kris Constellation - Wellspoken, French, hansom, frequents Paradise Lost and is thinking of looking into the Flickr / LSL relations some more. W00t! ;)
- Loki Popinjay - Hmmm. Url, please? I did not write it down. :( And some content would be nice too! ;)
I just wish I could add Andro to the list too, as he always visits such exciting places and has a great sence of humor. And it would be good practise for his English (although that’s getting better each day!) as I’m sure he has a basic knowledge of flirting with girls in English mastered by now. Time to step up, hun! ;) Until then, I’ll have to content myself with his photoblog on Flickr. :(

SL Blogpile 1.0
May 7, 2007 3:11 pm
I trust on the others to do some sort of report on this as I can’t remember all that happened, but I’ll share this: the rumour goes we’ll be having a hawt male neko stripper over next time. Thanks again to our great host Zoe, who is continiously doing a lot of effort to bring the SL blogosphere closer together!
I’ve highlighted in this picture: Veyron ran out of clothes to wear? Who was Sherperz? The blogpile! ;)
But, where were Shockwave, Myg and Alexander, Melissa, Codie, Bella, Dolmere, Gaynor,… and last but not least: Wrath?!

Wrath Paine & Dakota Buck
April 11, 2007 5:35 amAmongst the people that came over to vote on my egg (or at least, so I hope): Wrath Paine and Dakota Buck. With Wrath I had a little problem focussing on anything else but his butt. Well… it’s a nice butt with some great wrapping, no? *grins* Btw, you can still vote for me (again, the voting board crashed and thus the voting was reset)! Highly appreciated and stuff. :d
