Something the whole Paradise Lost crew has been looking forward to for a long (long, long, long, … ) time: the first demo scenes from the semi-documentary film ‘My Avatar and Me’ (Me Avatar og Mi in Danish). Lead star of the - kick ass, of course - video containing both Real Life and Second Life footage is Paradise Lost’s own Princess Helena Kirkorian. Besides being totally promising, it’s also incredibly education (if in doubt about this, start watching at 6:20)! The question we’re all pondering: that print out, is that Helena’s atomic? And is that Rob Danton at the end of the demo footage, professionally holding that virtual camera, but breaking the poor Mick Proud’s heart? Behold:

Can’t wait until it’s on TV (with subtitles, please! ;)). Fenris Film was as kind as to include a bit of behind the scenes footage as well. Go Rob! Go Rob! Go Rob! No, no, nooo! Auwch! C’mon.. you can easily kick that guy’s ass! Oh? What do you say? Anoter sex scene? Where? Show us! (Or at least don’t let us wait to long.)

PS. I’ve always said I’d blog again, if I had something interesting to share related Second Life. With this blog entry, point proven! ;) Now, all, go favourite these videos on youtube, share them on Facebook, Tweet and Plurk them, as well as leaving some sweet comments. That’s an order!

There are not many documentaries on Second Life out there that apply the necessary ‘nuances’, that show the Opportunities as well as the Dangers that lie within this virtual world. Not many documentaries that do not brutally cut out & off the interviewed resident’s words, as to only serve the point their creator wants to get across. As it comes to getting ‘the whole deal’ across, the short film ‘Second Me’ by Anna Thommen nailed it. It comes as no surprise it won the Audience Award at the Wintherthur short film festival, and also a shared Swiss Price. *applauds*

For this, Miss Anna Thommen just needed to follow one avatar and it’s human - or is it the other way around? - living his Second Life, telling about his ‘Second Me’ and commenting on behaviour, looks and backgrounds of fellow avatars. The avatar sharing the high points and virtual lows of his adventures with us is Eifachfilm Vacirca, who’ve I’ve met a few times at my ‘grow up’ sim, the Paradise Lost. (And I recognize quite a few of my ‘homies’, which is uberly kewl.)

For those with dirty minds - *does not look into a particular direction* but a certain person, you know who you are, made me insert this disclaimer - at 7 minutes 57 seconds, that’s his FOOT he’s moving. Really. But this _is_ a ‘Euro’ documentary, so the director did not cut out or ‘bleep’ the protagonist using the word ’sperm’. For the NSFW puritans out there, just shut up and swallow. * I was guessing at Second Life account troubles, ‘put on hold’ because of suspicious money transfers after the gambling act, because of Linden random f*ck up or because she’s just to hot looking for Second Life.

For those that did not know yet - which is unlikely, as I spammed a lot of people - yesterday, on august 6th 2007, Dalien Talbot rezzed 1 year. Woot! It’s still not to late to give him the three kisses! ;) Either that or go read his blogpost on how to start with live music performance in Second Life and his ponderings about the intelligence of prim breasts.

So, I’m never not for the next three weeks going to laugh with Veyron’s hang for Google tools anymore. A big thank you to you and the Google Calender to notify me in an almost timely fashion! :p

To throw a last minute surprise RezzDay party, what do we need?

• A location: The Paradise Lost.
• Decoration (no time)
  
• Invite: Voila. Yes, I stole Looker’s pictures. No bill yet? :d
• Guests: Ah. So many dropped by! Thank you all!
• DJ: Stella Errans’ Nephie Eerie.
• RezzDay present: Euhm. *grins*
• Booze (plunder your own fridge)

1pm SLT: the party starts. Timothy and Tiana were amongst the first to arrive, and quickly made their way to the - amongst others, mine - dancing poles. Lillie Yiffie, Londen Spengler, Nadine Nozaki, Alusz Niven, Kean Kelly, Trinity Clift, Dandellion, … and many others. I TP’d Dalien in and we all yelled ‘Surprise! Happy Rezzday!’. Also Mygdala March and Alexander Burgess dropped by, and despite some crashing, Myg even got Alex to move his feet to Nephie’s excellent music set.

At a certain moment I started to panic: ‘Veyron! Veyron! I don’t have a RezzDay present!!! Help!’ Veyron’s savvy answers: ‘Well, hun, you do have dancing poles, right?’ I must admit, the lady is a way better pole dancer then I’ll ever be. Even taken into account that I am a bit rusty at the whole pole dancing thing. Well, after a while and a whole lot of typing, tossing clothing pieces and ice cubes we even got Dalien to participate a bit. Off went the matrix coat and sweater. *grins*

But all parties come to an end. Especially if most of the guests are on CET. So, after a final slow dance - happy now, Tiana? :p - I rebooted and did not return to SL.

It was awesome to celebrate with ‘y’all’, it was great to see the Paradise Lost full of people again and I can’t wait until Dalien’s 2nd RezzDay! *grins* (I did promis for that occasion Veyron and I will not keep our panties on. ;))

Vint’s acceptance speech:

W00t! I’ve won! I’ve won! I’ve won! I’m very flattered to have won this ‘Strip Search’ contest although I only wear a humble Neko skin and had nothing to take off except some ordinary silks.

I want to thank my loyal dancing pole for being as shiny, smooth and filled with animations as he is. I couldn’t have done this without you!

My gratitude also goes out to all the lovely people and skeletons that voted for me, kept me company and told me I was doing fine and to keep going when I was getting exhausted and could barely lift my arms anymore.

And of course I need to thank Hele and my fellow Lost Angels at the Paradise Lost for the contest and the competition. ;) I hope I won’t disappoint some by not participating in the ‘Best in Silks’ contest tonight, as I would just end up wearing the same as I did for the stripper’s contest. Or I need to go and shop… Shop?! Shop!!!! ;)

And now more serious: I had ‘a blast’. It was nice just hanging/dangling there and having all the time in the world for main chat and IM. I’ve got to see some old friends again, and actually exchanged more then 2 sentences with them and I ‘past tense of LMAO’ with the Belgian - German bonding. Ty all!

As the Linden Gods were against me on Thuersday night and all skin textures did either completely not or halfly rez, snapshotting in wireframe was the only option left besides not snapshotting at all. :(
