We were rather sure that at that moment in time - and maybe even now, who knows - by our readers public, he would not have been reelected. As inventory loss was one of the huge grid problems we were facing at that moment in time, it was the best way to solve the problem to give him another term as Governor of Second Life. As we clearly stated: this is satire, SL political role playing.
• I had a lot of fun being ‘Candidate Vint Falken’. *grins* Eventhough Candidate Vint Falken was roleplaying too and there was a lot of satire in my campaign, I did get to ‘tackle’ one issue that I’m really worried about. And response was positive and showed that I was not the only one worrying.
• I still want to see that machinima someday, Wrath. ;) *even bigger grin*

Ok. When ‘reviewing’ the whole SLelection crazyness I could say: ‘Damned, no Falken administration. *sobs*’. Or ‘I did f*ck up on some things, sorry!’ or ‘Wow! As the Concerned Residents forgot to write down a minimum age for running for SL Governor, Smiley Barry is our last-minute candidate representing the Teen Grid: ‘Second Life is so buggy lately, lagy, full of abuse issues, spam, and it seems the only ‘right’ grid is the Teen Grid… Teen Grid to the rescue! Vote Teen!’ I wonder if they come to our rescue, may we keep our Mature playgrounds? And what is Candidate Barry’s take on the Gorean sims, for example?

A new candidate - stepping up close to the end of the SLelections race - is Nuschi Martynov. Speaking German as mother tongue, he must have thought ‘Hey, as Arnold can do this, so can I!’. On his platform he addresses the german immigrants and bus passengers in Second Life, saying that he supports the other candidates’ - and we assume that’s mainly Candidate Falken’s - demands, but not the candates themselves. He starts his campaign with the demand for the right to be late in Second Life. And witht he promis that if you vote for him Second Life will be slower. We think he should clarify on what would be slower: the bug fixes, the implementation of the new verification system or the folluw up of AR’s and help requests? Yet, as it comes to candidates with cute german accents, the Grid Democracy Party still prefers Candidate Volare.

Update: Candidate Martynov clarified his ‘for the Right to be Late!’ platform: ‘The Right to be Late has to be an avatarian fundamental right. Slowness must be part of the basic SL system. Occasional lag is not enough! Delayed TP’s and Logins cannot happen just now and then! This is our first Election Poster. Vote for Nuschi Martynov! For the discovery of more and better slowness in SL!’

Candidate Falken had to do all sorts of icky stuff like massaging Wei’s campaign manager Mygdala March to get to this documents, but she bravely - and a bit drugged too - underwent these horrifying and scandalous actions as to protect you, the Residents of Second Life.

The shocking document she laid hands upon is a referendum that those insane minds created for once Wei would be Governor of Second Life. We quote:

Under the provisions of this referendum, PremiumPrison and FurryCrawl will be outsourced to private companies. Imprisoned residents’ weekly stipends will be confiscated in payment for their safety services.

An exception to Community Standards will be made for those two companies to give them the necessary tools to ensure your safety.

The incarcerated shall work to create full-permissions content to prove their value as residents. Content will become the sole property of PremiumPrison and FurryCrawl. By purchasing this content, you will be contributing to your safety in Second Life.

UnveriPrison will be operated similarly and will house any avatar refusing to verify payment and identity information. We still intend to allow unverified registration to boost user numbers. The influx of a large number of second-class residents provides us with heretofore untapped sources of revenue through forced labor for the crime of refusing to verify.

We also realize that re-education will not be suitable for certain residents. For those residents, a declaration of unsuitability will be made and avatarship immediately revoked, to be followed without ceremony by a meta-death sentence. Next new candiate is Khamudy Mannonen, also known as the Second Life weather anchor: ‘In the Spring Period, the Metaverse was hedged by enemies and plunged into chaos. Greedy officials retreated into hiding, natural disasters rocked the land and the people suffered. Finally so many stranded and disaffected people rose and demanded change. The Metaverse was shocked, the court packed, Emperor Philip-Di listened and did nothing.‘ Although he thinks the title of ‘Governor’ does not suffice and is in the running for that of ‘Emperor’, his platform contains a few interesting ideas such as bling taxation to fund grid stability work, land reform, severe and effective punishment for criminals. Candidate Mannonen is also expresses his concern about the grid’s economy and has a solid plan for it’s future: ‘The new reign will be marked by a new census to accurately show the actual active population of the realm - allowing businesses and content creators better idea of the operating scale of SL.’

The wannabe tyrans:

1. Erbo Evans from SLGOP who in his radio spot promises that ‘you’ll have clear, easy-to-follow content guidelines–so you won’t need to worry about breaking rules you don’t know about‘. Yet, same as our current Linden Administration, he fails to mention what that content might be.
2. Romana Wei: the Wei08 campaign is all about scaring the hell wireframe out of you, the residents. We know the rumour goes candidate Falken has sle… massaged Romana’s campaign manager, but you can believe us when we say she did this all for you, dear residents. Wei08 only released this picture foolishly thinking that the residents could be distracted from the striking evidence the Grid Democracy Party shall release about Romana Wei’s plans for ‘Fighting Danger’. We trust you shall not fall for this pityful attempt at discrediting Miss Falken and we promise to unmask WEI08’s dark plans for our cherished grid’s democracy as soon as our safety adivsor has finished analysing them.
3. A librarian like Rosmairta Kilara as governor?! Residents, be aware that librarians are bred and raised for labeling content. Ask your human counterpart if he or she remembers seeying all those books in the library they could not take home because he or she was not ‘mature’ enough? Or the books safely hidding in dark dungeons of oblivion because ‘they’ say ‘nobody is interested in them anyway’? Voting for a librarian would not only be a non-vote, it would also be a vote for changing the Dewey classification system and label 000-900 as ‘broadly offensive’ content.
4. Sexy vixen Hanakin Saiman. Doesn’t sound that bad as governor? And neither do ‘no censorship’ and ‘respect the different’. But big was our suprise at the campaign HQ when we read ‘for a free grid for fur people‘ and ‘democracy is insane’. As we speak the Grid Democracy Party’s lawyers are taking a better look at the ‘democracy is insane’ slogan, to see if we could sue them as we are sure that sexy vixen is trying to insult the Grid Democracy Party. We shall be asking for your money support soon as we’re planning to take this to trial as soon as we’ve been able to contact Live Help.
