SLelections continue

June 14, 2007 10:20 am

SLG2007As I’ve decided upon being lazy today, no ‘bindings’:

  • New non-campaign poster by Kean Kelly. *points to the right*
  • Shall Dolmere find his undead Queen through the SLelections?
  • Two new press releases from candidate Flintoff. (I and II) The latter involves flea’s and Erbo. A must read! ;)
  • And Hanakin, a not real ‘not real canditate’.

Slelections: not running, Nephie and Safety

June 13, 2007 2:50 am

Hmmm. This is confusing. DesertWolf Longstaff says he is not running, yet he asks us to vote for him should we get tired of all this SLelections stuff. Tired? We at the Grid Democracy party shall not rest until we a.) have God powers, b.) all the children* are safe and proper health care for the residents is taken care off and c.) the grid is fixed (or they stop braking it).

SLG 2007 - PropagandaLuckily candidate Eephie, one of the stronger ones, if I may add, is more open in her communication and - we think - her office promotes the idea of the ruling administration being open, communicative and easy to reach for the residents. If we wouldn’t all be voting for Vint, she definitely would get out vote.

The Grid Party is proud to announce Dalien Talbot joined the ranks as Safety Advisor. Although it took some convincing, Mr. Talbot - famous for his primskirtbuilder (SLurl to fetch your own) and the DeliHud which makes you can easily visit del.icio.us’d SLURLs in-world - is willing to address the residents on how they should be keeping their land safe, alone. Please, listen to his advice carefully, so we can all feel safer and more secure!

SLelections 2007 at SLB4

June 12, 2007 2:18 am

CampaignHQ_001Mr. Storm Thunders in the comments at the ‘SL Family Values‘ post:

Any chance you’re going to take that first shot, label it with something like “Protect SL’s Children” and show it off at SLB4?

Well, Sir, we will do better then that! Grace to Shoshana Epsilon, a SLelections 2007 Headquarters has been erected at the SL04 [mature] sim. For those who do not know: SL04 [mature] stands for ‘the sim showing off stuff that depicts year 4 after Governor Philip Linden and that more or less is mature and might contain some nude’. *grins* As you can see in the picture on the right, it has 5 slideshow viewers of different format, so each campaign poster will look good (if inserted in the right viewer, that is).

Now, how do our candidates get their pictures inside the viewers?

Option 1: You’re already a member of the SLB4 group.

First ask yourself this question: ‘Am I capable of visiting sims that are flagged ‘mature’ without that giving me a trauma or doing permantent brain damage?’ If the answer is yes, upload your poster and TP to the SLelections 2007 headquarters. Right click the slide viewer that comes most close to your poster’s format, choose edit and just then just drag your poster texture from your inventory into the viewer’s contents. Close the edit box. Et voila, done.

Option 2: SLB4, what’s that? But I still want my campaign poster(s) there! (Also for the ones that can’t handle ‘mature’.)

Upload you campaign poster to Second Life. Name it whatever you please, but preferably put SLelections in there somewhere to make it a bit more easy for Miss Shoshana. Then look for Shoshana Epsilon in search, open op her profile and drag the texture from your inventory upon her profile.

In case you are worrying about your picture spreading on the grid or whatever, you can put the permissions (right click in the inventory, ‘properties’) to ‘no copy’ ‘no transfer’. Miss Shoshana says: ‘Giving me the texture in-world is allowing me to use it AS IS in the campaign HQ I’ve set up in the SLB4 sims.’ Of course, friendly persons say a quick ‘Hello, I’ve send you my SLelections campaign poster, it’s called *insert texture’s name here* would you please be so friendly as to put it in one of the viewers at SL4B, dear Miss Shoshana?’ after sending her the texture.

Slelections: After-the-weekend update.

June 11, 2007 5:03 am

slelection: vote LOVE & PEACE, vote Andromega! We start with a new candidate: Andromega Volare who promises to be our Second Light. No political platform yet, and I highly suspect him to use his impressive abs to gain votes. Residents, don’t be fooled by that!

And another (great) lady joining the Slelections: Bella March who seems to be born with a healthy dose of ‘fight for freedom’ in her blood. Being a very creative and generous lady too, The Grid Democracy Party’s Counter Candidate Intelligence Office wouldn’t be suprised if we all walk around with diamond ‘vote for Bella’ campaign badges soon.

‘La douce France’ is now also represented at the SLelections as Nephie Eerie released the first poster of her SLelections campaign. Stating ‘I don’t hide anything!’, we can only dream. Given the French’s experience at revolutions, guillotine and overthrowing the reigning nobility, I can only conclude that she must be a very strong candidate.

Politics are sooooooo last year... ; )Another ‘against democracy, against SLelections’ campaign comes from Kean Kelly, who is always rambling about something anyway, as she says ‘Don’t vote, create! This world can be anything we dream of.‘ Yes, indeed, lady. And what if our candidate, Miss Falken, dreams of a nice governemental palace with a king size sexgen bed? The Grid Party wishes to friendly warn you: before you think of persuing this campaign, remember that you once handed out a Sister Act Rulebook to one of our members. SLavery is not indulged with anymore! ;)

SLG 2007 - PropagandaWe finally hear from candidate Evan’s campaign manager (and ex-wife) and Mr. Evans thinks he should remind me of the fact that it takes more then family values to govern. Mr. Evans, I’m well aware of that fact. For if you have missed it, the Grid Democracy party has already given her opinion on health care in Second Life too. We prefer to at the moment release Vint Falken’s key issues one by one - in no partical order - and doing a wrap up closer to the elections. This strategy is mainly inspired by our graphic agency, VintLabs, not having the staff to produce all political posters at once. They claim they have a client called ‘RL examinations’ that is still of more importance than the Grid Democracy Party. Seeing what we pay VintLabs for a poster, I can hardly believe that, but they say they are already giving us a ‘high priority’ treatment.

Also bitching about not agreeing with the Grid Democracy Party’s campaign ‘Family Values’ is SLelections 2007 candidate Dolmere Talamasca. I quote:

The Grid Democracy stays with it’s stance that whatever happens to the child avatars on the main grid will one day happen to the furries, neko’s, goreans and other minorities on the grid. Furthermore, if candidate Dolmere is not able to see the difference between ‘encaptured in shackles’ and ’standing with beautiful flowers coming up to one’s knees’, then we can only conclude his mind is a perverted one and The Grid Democracy feels strongly about not letting such a perverted mind as Talamasca’s governor our grid! Candidate Falken agrees with Mr. Dolmere on the extinction of prim babies, but considers the prim babies to be animated, prim objects with no ‘essence of life’ into them. She says our main grid’s children are cute, witty creatures that can think for themselves, have an own opinion and are worth to be protected by all means.

// SLelections add. (The Grid Democracy Party does need fundings! ;))

Get Your Banner

// end SLelections add.

And some short news: candidate Montgolfier’s Hummingbird Address, Cute Cats with Claws’s Timothy Lilliehook issueing a new press release, candidate Talmasca’s disturbing of a Gilligan’s Second Life Island episode, Zabrina McMahon promising to do anything she can to bring back candidate Zoe Connolly, … and probably some more that I’ve missed as we should all study on pingbacks, trackbacks and decently tagging our posts a bit more. =D

PS. Being busy with running for governor of Second Life, I had no time to do my homework yet. Did anyone make his or hers already and can I copy it? Pretty please?

PPS. I now officially use an AO, please applaud and drop some ‘good places to get poses’ in the comments.

Disclaimer: If this post, blog or the SLelections in any way offends you, look beyond ‘AR’ and follow Myg & Alex’s handy guide to resolve that matter. This is policital roleplay. We kid ourselves that Linden Lab endorses this SLelections. Which they do not. Duh. Because if they would actually listen to their residents, we wouldn’t all be running for governor in the first place.

For Family values: the grid democracy party!

June 10, 2007 5:43 am

The Grid Democracy Party wishes to make clear that when governing she shall not accept parents to put the responsability to raise their children with the governement.

When ruling, the Grid Democracy Party shall use all means in it’s power to prevent mass murder on our children and to preserve their innocent lifes.

When given your vote, the Grid Democracy Party will do anything within it’s reach to keep our children safe.

Because they are the Goreans of tomorrow. Because they are the Neko’s of tomorrow. Because they are the Furries of tomorrow. Because how we treat our children today, that determines our future.

Vote for our children!
Vote for Grid Democracy!
Vote for Vint Falken!

Slelections: For Family Values, Vote Vint!

slelections: defend our childs!

A grid without children is a grid without future

Slelections: Trying to keep track…

PS. Sorry voor het miserabele Frans. :p

dont voteIt seems like there is a very small minority of avies that does not like the idea of SLelections (the majority still does not care). The Grid Democracy Party’s stance on this? Well, run for governor and if you win the race for governor, just label SLelections as ‘broadly offensive’. That should do the trick. We thrust in Gaynor’s sincerity, yet can’t help but think of Loki Popinjay’s ‘Councel of 100 wise avies’ as a of a political plan that comes with a catch. Or Loki.

Vote RuthFirst there is the rumour of our all time mother, Ruth, aspiring the post as Governer of Second Life as well. I couldn’t track her down yet, as she seems to continue taking over other avatars besides their will. So, if you’re presently being Ruthed, please contact me! Fittingly she runs with the slogan ‘Experience matters’.

And Zoe’s still missing in action. Damned, and ignorant me that was thinking inventory loss was one of the biggest issue’s on the grid. Avie loss is way worse. I tried searching Jira for it, but I must admit, as the whole Jira thingie is a bit to complicated for an ex-dancer I didn’t even know where to start searching. I’d file a ‘Please make Jira understandable to me’ request, but that’s a bit hart when not ‘getting it’ in the first place. Not that I’m getting my hopes up to on finding Zoe through Jira. Especially not if the story The Inside Scoop has published - they claim to have proof on a Linden Labs conspiracy theory involving Zoe Connolly’s disapperance is true. The Grid Democracy Party is not willing to do a formal statement on this line of thinking yet. But would Governor Phil be willing to take a lie detector test?

SL Candidate Poster‘Second Life. Your World. Your Imagination. My Rules.’, ‘Second Life - Do Whatever you Damn Well Please.’ (I think the stress is on ‘please’ here.) and ‘She’ll make sure you toe the line.’ are some of the slogans SLelections 2007 candidate Tyffany Flintoff is running with. She agrees with the Grid Democracy Party on equality and promises strict measures on those not obedient to ToS and Community Guidelines: ‘Residents who are brought to my attention as acting outside the above structure and whose behaviour remains unaddressed by Linden lab shall also receive an audience with me. The outcome of said audience is unlikely to be favourable for the resident.‘ Her candidacy did force us to think over ourcurrent political strategy. Not only did she steal away one of the Grid Democracy’s most loyal party members, she also made our leading lady doubt about which titel the residents should use to address her: ‘Governor Vint’ or ‘My Governess’.

Also running for governor is Shoshana Epsilon, who as we speak does not have a political platform yet. The Grid Party respects this, though, as we know she is very busy working on the ‘art’ part of SL4B. She’s looking for art representing what could been done in year 1 after philip, year 2 AP, year 3 AP and year 4AP. No need to say The Grid Democracy Party Vint Falken has reserved a spot on the ‘year four after philip’ mature sim. You can take a peek at the 9 sim map and contact Miss Epsilon here.

Wei for SL GovernorRomana Wei has finally released her SLelections 2007 platform, which does not seem to include much changes to the current situation: We understand that some blame gridwide climate change for platform malfunctions, lag, broken searches, messaging problems, inventory loss and teleporting difficulties. However, we find no hard evidence to support this assertion. It is imperative to our economy that grid growth continues unhampered and new features are rolled out as quickly as possible. Growth means greater opportunities for all residents to pursue a safe Second Life.

samantha pointdexterSeen a lot of ‘Keep ageplay legal!’ t-shirts in world lately? The one to blame is Samantha Pointdexter who has even given her platform a very own page. The Grid Democracy does not consend to her stance on Vanilla Ice Cream. With chocolate pieces inside, please! Now as there’s one thing we all agree upon: the disclaimers are the most fun thing to do, here goes her’s: #include <disclaimer.h>.

Hmmm. I just tried to log in to SL. Strangely enough I got this message. Like, we’re politicians without a cause now?

Disclaimer: Read the French stuff.

SLelections press release: Live help? Health care? We care!

4:06 am

Slelections: Live Help? Health Care? We care!

The Grid Democracy Party wishes to make the following statement:

Because in every resident’s life there will be a moment when they are in dying need of treatment or honest comforting. Because health care should be available to all. Because even our alts and the ruthed deserve to be attended to.

As Governor of Second Life Vint Falken will see to Zhivago Clinic being extended. Using state funds to pay for state of the art medical equipment and a well trained staff, Zhivago State Hospital will be able to help all residents* with their medical needs. No matter how bad their condition is!

Vint Falken is fully supported in this ambitious plan that will benefit all residents* by Zhivago Clinic’s head nurse Ardra Ah, who did some shifting in her very busy schedule to pose together with Vint, and nurse Trinity Clift who both say they think highly of Miss Falken as she was not scared to get her hands and outfit dirty when helping out in the OR.

Should you need a larger size of the campaign poster for your article or desktop background, you find it here.

SLelections: Candidates come and candidates go

1:09 am

Rej_CandidateThe first SLpolitical news of the day is a very sad one: Tiana Meriman shall no longer represent the PATH party in this SLelectional race. Her official statement is that she just pities Robin to much finds the current Linden administration did make the right decisions and that she has high hopes for Second Life’s future should that same Linden administration be given a Second Term. The rumor does go she was advise upon dropping out of the SLG07 elections before the other candidates got word about her offering space needles to the press.

The second candidate that - literally - disappeared this close to the SLelection day is Zoe Connolly who was last seen blogging about a suspicious looking white van and not being able to escape-TP. Both foe’s and friends express their concern for Zoe Connolly’s meta-life and their hopes for a safe return. Let’s all pray to the Linden Gods. Maybe for once this will help. Although they tend to stop listening after 100 prayers.

What Myg is to Wei shall Ferguson be to Erbo: Erbo Evans appointed Danielle Ferguson as campaign managar. We at the Grid Democracy’s campaign office hope that she knows what she’s doing by accepting this. Remember lady: why did you un-partner in the first place?

// Grid Democracy message

The Grid Democracy party announces that she would welcome all donations made in L$ to help it’s candidate Vint Falken to extend her SLelectional wardrobe. A future governor can’t be dressed in silks can she? That and she urgently needs a briefcase to sort all the other candidate’s platforms in. Support Grid Democracy! Vote Vint! (Of course the Grid Party will thank you in ‘appropriate matter’ for those donations as soon as Vint Falken has become Governor of SL.)

// end Grid Democracy public message

I finally received Miss Bade’s campaign platform and I must say her ideas make the SLfuture look even more bright. I can’t help but quote her on those very ambitous plans:

And last, I’ll be working with our corporate partners to ensure we have a steady source of revenue without having to raise taxes on residents. I’ll do this by auctioning off the naming rights to mainland sims. Should that not generate enough revenue, we’ll look at naming rights to islands as well.

I foresee great days ahead for SL, and can’t wait to move into the new Kraft Foods SL Governors Mansion on lovely Halliburton sim.

Talking about ambition, Tiessa Montgolfier, known BDSM mistress and running as an independent candidate, says to us it’s Governor Phil’s ambition ‘bringing all ruin’. Supprisingly she isn’t running with the ‘Free blowjobs’ slogan that all expected her to use, but has worked out a very well written campaign speech. Lend her your IM’s!

Need voting advice? Go and read Dalien Talbot’s voting advice. First he gave prim skirt making abilities to the masses, now he gives us a good overviewer of the qualities an SLgovernor must have.

meratalk.comThe Grid Party is also wondering what Dolmere Talamasca is trying to achieve with this carefully inserted message in his own position paper:

You see… Erbo knows I have those pictures - the ones where he’s enjoying his REAL position papers, you savvi? I’m creating my Flikrrr account now just in case he sends his goons over to get them back.

We wouldn’t be supprised if he ends up suffering from sudden ‘inventory loss’ when asked to show what he’s got, yet we also are rather curious after the contents of the blackmail_erbo snapshot folder.

Furthermore I sugest Tateru Nino with her ‘anarchy’ approach on (not) governing SL and Rejeanne Cannoli who claims she shall make no difference to team up as running mates.

‘No difference’ brings me to the disclaimer: This is not a real election. As Phil wasn’t democratically elected governor in first place. We life in a dictorate. Forced to accept the ToS or to not live at all. So the SLelections are a parody. A way to think about the possibilities that lay ahead of us and our grid. Linden Labs is in no way involved in this SLelection and up to now no Lindens are running for the position of ‘Governor of SL’.

Political romance, etc.

June 7, 2007 2:18 pm

Oh my! A personal fav. I’d love to euhm… team up with this one! *purrrs*

Raul Crimson for SL Governor

I don’t know if ToS allows robots to run. I don’t even think Iron Plato can call upon Avie Rights. But, why the hell not! Representing the steampunk scene, a good friend of Ordinal Malaprop: Iron Plato for the Punch Cards as Law Party (PCALP) is in the run. We did indeed still need someone who actually thinks before speaking typing or animating. Now build some printing presses and start spreading the posters!

Btw. You can now post all photographs that discredit the other candidates or promotes your own campaign to the SLelections2007 Flickr group. All admin! All equal! Vote Vint! In that same group Milena Lorenz has a great idea for Lord Phil’s retirement compensation.
