Babbage Linden tell us some about this at his lastweek office hour.
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/User:Babbage_Linden/Office_Hours/2008_11_05#chat17

CPU usage and network bandwidth things are not mentioned. (Maybe it's Andrew Linden's part?)

I'm most impressed that you found a posting by a lesser spotted Linden in that thread.

This just stinks yet again of a Linden idea that hasn't been thought through. They never learn and I'm at the stage now where I doubt they ever will.

If they don't manage the 'expected', then people will have to make a decision based on what seems very much like Russian roulette / a best guess to me too. Pathetic.

What if those 'tools' malfunction (oh ye of little faith, Ari, as if LINDEN-made things would do that)?

Will there be a 'grey zone' or will you be plunged into the eternal void if, say - buy a cutsey script-rich little dog that explodes your limits but as you're just a little homestead owner, you don't really know much about 'stuff like that'.

Way to go, Lindens. I now trust you even less than before, if that's possible.
