I’ve often seen these little cute Greenies pop up in the Second Life Flickr pool, but this was the first time I got to see them in-world. And was I impressed!

The most famous - and cutest - one of the bunch is probably the little green extraterrestrial guy listening to David Bowie’s ‘Life On Mars’ as pictured by Torley, but the others are amazing sculptures too. I wonder if someone will build this cute Greenie an iPhone now. ;)

At the Second Life 4th Birthday event there was a cute little green alien reading Playboy and another Greenie passed out on top of a can of beer with a very impressive detailed straw.

One was hanging from a huge bottle of Coke (W00t! on the bottle, top of the bottle and the Coke flowing out) and a more ‘though guy’ Greenie reminded me of ET in front of his spaceship alot. The last one was kind enough to pose with me. I wonder how even more great this all would have looked under Windlight. *sobs a bit*

I’ve tried to find some more information on the Greenies, but as far as ‘Light Waves’ and ‘Second Life’ is concerned, Google returns a lot of ‘not on topic’ results. Or people who snapshotted them but don’t mention anything else but that they were created by Light Waves.

A pity, as this is one of the most impressive things I’ve seen in Second Life as it comes to building. That and it’s original. And awefully cute. *grins*

So if anybody knows if Light Waves has a ‘permant’ set-up in-world or is displaying creations or sculptures somewhere else, please let me know! I’m dying to see!
