Ah .. me misinterpreted your reference - 'OT' = 'Off Topic' - not sticking to the subject (a big weakness of mine LOL).

PS: As I'm not into being stalked, I avoid all comments by prok like the plague (and treat them with the disdain they invariably deserve). I'm sure you can relate to that 'Miss' Vint ;)

I was wondering about what 'OT' stands for. Overly terrorised? Objective Testimony? ... ? ;)

PS. Kewl comment at RaR 'boss' Rimbaud's hypergrid post. You did a great job at utterly and completely ignoring prok by starting your comment with @RaR. :D *pats Evad on the back*

Sorry Vint - I fell into the trap of going OT (couldn't resist the temptation ;-)).

Great tutorial for those that appreciate it.
Keep up the good work :)

@Nacon

True, there is a lot about OpenSim which is not 'convenient' at the moment, but the same was said about the internet/web in those heady days when all you had was very slow black and white text on a screen or teleprinter.

Fortunately, many people believed in the possibilities of it, and stuck around waiting for it to grow and improve - which it obviously did.

I very strongly believe that OpenSim has enormous possibilities, and am prepared to wait for it's potential to manifest itself. The whole VW concept is still in it's infancy (on the WWW timescale) and has yet to find a true niche market (imo), but when it does, I'm confident that OpenSim will be one of the big players, even if not as a marketable product, then at least as one of, if not the major contributor to the 'Metaverse' ... or whatever it might be called then.

Limitations can just be challenges if dealt with as such - they don't need to be a reason for negative thinking.

Earth is flat? Don't think NASA wasn't aware of that.

As for OpenSim, I do believe you know about the limitation. Due to such limitation, it's has become quite inconvenient to wait for any sign of improvement update. You may be open mind but you're inconvenient for some reason I believe.

However, you're not the only one. Linden Lab is inconvenient as well lately.

Well I started work on it last night but because both PCs are second hand and broken I had trouble getting the machine with the working monitor to stay powered up to complete the install. such is the inherent problem with being "cheap".

I got to thinking though. If I get it working, I'll basically have a SL Island I can take anywhere. Just set it down turn it on and hook up to it via another PC.
