How to see Last Login date?
August 3, 2007 3:43 pmOften when people haven’t responded to an IM in 24 hours you start to wonder: are they ignoring me or did they just not see it yet? You click there profile, only to find that there is no such thing that tells when they last logged in to Second Life. Or is there?
There is a simple way to check the date an avatar last logged in to Second Life: (Works 95% of the time.)
- Step 1: Open the avatar’s profile. (Either from your friends list or using Search > People.)
- Step 2: Open the info for one of the groups the avatar is in.
- Step 3: Order the members list by alphabet (just click on ‘member name’) and scroll down till you see the avatar’s name. In the third column (Last Login) there is either ‘online’ or the date they last logged in - loginned? ;) -to Second Life.
The group you looked at does not have member information visible? Well, just try the next one and repeat step 2 and 3.

PBP: Are short tutorials / how to’s like this one appreciated and should I continue posting them, or do you feel like ‘I knew that already, let the n00bs figure this out themselves’?

Good one. *bangs her head for being lazy to write it*
Keep going with howto’s.
I think these are a great idea, Vint. I was talking to someone just the other day, who had been around since February, and hadn’t realised you could pass inventory to someone who wasn’t right in front of you. It’s amazing what people don’t pick up - what might seem obvious to one person, is a mystery to another. Keep ‘em coming I say :-)
Phoenix, it’s just that I don’t want to bother people all the time with things they already know for ages. So I think it will depend on reactions like ‘Hey, yeah, I did not know that.’ on these and the (hopefully) coming ones.
As for the dragging to profile, I can’t remember how and when I found that out. Know it for already a while now, though.
Vint,
It’s this sort of stuff that should be on the SL Wiki.
Keep up the tips…so many small little things make sl easier…
I had a stalker, or maybe I WAS the stalker..I cant exactly remember *G*, but whichever it was, this method was used to see if the person was actually online, even if they had removed you from their friends list…wheeeeeeeee
Yay, I made the list! Erm, I mean, yep, cool way to see if the person is still around. I was already aware of this method, but think tips like this never hurt - good for new residents, and who knows, might always run across one that I haven’t heard of. I like ‘em! :-)
Yes Vint, please continue “bothering” us with this kind of stuff…
Its just because of the mix of tips&tricks, classic blogging / writing about SL events, web resources, and some juicy ranting from time to time, that I find your blog one of the most appealing ones on SL..
(dont feel offended you other guys…, your are doing great jobs too..)
and, btw : ‘Hey, yeah, I did not know that.’ :-)
Keep up the nice work!!!
Vint
keep bothering me with these tips
Although I ‘knew of them’
last time I needed to know if my lover was missing in action, I completely forgot where the info was.
(She was safe and sound and cream crackered, that was all.)

Vint,
I knew how to do this already but I’d much rather send a newbie here than have to type the instructions out in chat every time I try to explain it. So I say:
Keep up the instructions!
They are a resource for teaching as well as learning.
sometimes when the group shows all members last login at unknown,if you join the group you can see it.
[…] The Tutorials: although most of the tutorials on this page were written in 2007, you are still really interested in ‘learning new stuff’. Toppers are using Photoshop’s liquify tool to correct squared breasts, layer styles for depth in textures (I still need to do Part II) and - strangely enough - How to see last login date. […]
