Would you hang out in a German sim as they all spoke (chat/text) in German? You cant avoid this. As a business owner in in SL for 4 years now I have noticed hordes of none English speaking customers coming in and I put on my translator hud and help as best I can but generally SL needs some kind of in built language translator - built into the actual interface for sure. Not everone esp newbies ( and none english speaking newbies more so ) know these translators exists or where to obtain one. Winter -

The diversity of Second Life is what appeals to most people from what I have seen in my 1 year and 9 months of mentoring. The people I know that were confined to the existing language communities from the begining have a narrow sight of what SL is. Until now - and I spend some time per day at HIs - I always got Mentors for people who don't speak English when called in the Official Groups, most of the times more than one.
