Sneaky HUG-attack on Zonya ZenovkaIt all started by Pandora taking Dandellion by surprise: HUG-attack! By now, a large part of the grid inhabitants are on a hug quest, showing themselves visible on the map and teleporting to befriended avatars all over the Second Life grid, just to give them a hug.

I won’t say these days are all about hugging - they are about expensive presents, way to much food and showing off the clothes too - but I do think this is a nice initiative. Lindens surely did not give us animations just for SLex purposes, did they? ;)

Today, I took it one step further: I hugged a total stranger! That’s right, a total f*cking stranger. Zonya Zenovka is hawt, but still a stranger. If I inherited one thing from my human’s personality, it is that I am not likely to hug. On rare occasions, and only very spontaneously, I will do so. In SL spontaneously is even harder to do, as I still do not master the whole ZHAO, animations, Pandora-HUD stuff. Dumb me. But that’s besides the point here.

After the huggingSo, when shopping for free full perm female skin textures, I sneaked up on Zonya Zenovka with a huge smile on my mouth to hide discomfort. And then, when gathered all courage, I asked if I could hug.

Yeey! I was allowed. Still a bit uncomfortable, I decided to look at the whole hugging thing from a bit of a distance - through my snapshot window. But still… when it was over, I did not want to let go! :/

So, who’s next? To be hugged by me? And to confess about hugging experiences? Wrath? :D

For making hugging a bit easier, Pandora Designs has made a freebie demo Pandora HUD available, which gives you access to one hug, a lot of happy facial expressions and allows you to pick three persons that will always allow you to hug them.

Thanks for mentioning it, Vint, but… well… “A large part of the grid”! You silly :-p.

Btw, looking at the pictures I noticed that your hug whould had work better if you had asked her permissions and where facing each other… but it doesn’t matters at all. As in Christmas, is the intention what matters, and I know it was hard, since it was for me at first too.

Now I am a hugging addict; it is incredible how much it reduces the distance between virtuality and reality, and how good it feels. Count me in to be hugged anytime you want, Vint.

And yes, I know hugging is my businness, but I swear this wasn’t a sales speech :-p

*Examines the picture with more care* Wait, you asked permissions, what happened was she turned before you let go (yes, yes, as you explained, silly London). Now I commented again, I can keep doing it, hehe.

When to break a hug is a delicate matter… too quick is unsavory, and too long is, well, too long .-p.

Until now my best blunder whas when I forgot totally about the hug I was holding with somebody I had just befriended; I also remember she was smaller than I am.

I was chatting happily (and continously, as I use to do) and suddenly I noticed something was wrong; I think it is a sixth sense I have, you know, some kind of instinct… something that let us feel the emotions of somebody through the screen… I know it sounds mystical but…

Ooooookey, she said “Whould you mind you remove my face from your bust, London?”.

I have to admit that hint helped :-p

*Heads over to create a MG account in order to hug Vint* WAIT FOR ME!!11!!!!1*

That’s a neat thing, I really should look if this great 150msec ping i’m recently getting without Packet Loss, can be used in Second Life as well :-D. (or just Habbo UK :-/ )

P.S.: I thought of a gift! I’ll make you the only neko-skinned and avie-like looking resident in the upcoming Pixel Town! ;-) (I’ll double-comment soon to hand out some URLs from my blog describing the soon-released-for-public-testing Pixel Town)

Uh, not sure I will be going around hugging total random strangers - - I can just imagine the amount of Abuse Reports that would be filed against me for invading people’s personal space, hehe.

But, I will allow myself to be open for surprise hug attacks, should they occur, and yes, will blog all about it.

hmm Still waiting…

Fine, I’ll extend the hug attack deadline from Jan 2nd until, uh, June 2nd, heh.

*hugs Smiley over grid & country borders* Happy New Year! =)

Great, I’m not good at deadlines, not even extended ones. I’ll try to make this one though! :d

Damn, just today I realized that the deadline for the hugging meme has arrived … and I have not been online during the last two days at all! Hopefully I will make it tonight, to at least get someone to hug, but if not, I’ll just keep my “visibility” turned on ;)
