Codie, it's only logical to tag the notecards also with the creators name? :d And Seraphine, contact Codie for more details, as said before, the notecard is no-transfer. :(

I can close my eyes if I am asured that I got the only existing copy :)

And tags can be either on private server or indeed localy cause you're the only one that needs tags from your inventory... though that will make one imobile.

Dandellion, not locally, but somewhere on a private server on the i-net. Although, maybe that's 'locally' too. And you're not getting the notecard. Gossiping using notecards is difficult, it always reveals who started the gossip. =d

Actually, hosting inventories can be shared between users and LL (or whoever will do the assets in the future). They keep this part they hold now for security reasons, and all the other info including tags is stored locally.

LMAO on Veyron's disclaimer.

Barry, if they would allow us to host our own invents, that problem would be instantly solved? ;)

Pretty nice system, although code-wise, each item would need 10x the data space it takes for folder storage :-S. I mean, each item has something similar to a UUID for what folder it's stored in. For example:

'Silver Shoes'_'My favorite'_001_12345678901234

So, with tagging -- let's make this example like the item has 10 tags -- it would be like this:

'Silver Shoes'_'My favorite'_001_12345678901234_12345678901234_12345678901234_
12345678901234_12345678901234_12345678901234_
12345678901234_12345678901234_12345678901234_
12345678901234

(did a few line breaks to save the example from being cut off by WordPress bugs, and 001 is permissions [0/1 for copy, 0/1 for modify, and 0/1 for transfer])

But, usage-wise, that would be great! Although I like categories better :-S. Plus, 90% of my inventory is copy-enabled, even furni (I "order" copyable versions for extra L$), and most of my stuff don't need more than one folder. For example, Clothing has outfit folders: "Flames", "Shadow", "Formal", "Cyber", "Human", and "Silver (work in progress)". You should get around to doing that too :-).
