JIRA spotlight - Botany Linden needed
April 11, 2008 11:44 pmWhen looking for a JIRA issue concerning a Second Bug that makes my Second Life miserable, I often stumble on something that does bring a smile on my face. Because it is - for me - not a major bug, and actually, I do find it funny. Hence the new category, Jira Spotlight, for those bugs that make living a Second LifeĀ® a more enjoyable experience. Because, sometimes - especially when your the whole SL client is f*cked up and misbehaving for you - it’s nice to put all Second Life related problems in perspective. If you stumble over an ‘amusing‘ bug, feel free to let me know. Or blog about it and send me the link?
For today, we have a bit of Botany on the menu. I guess that those who say everything evolves at high speed as it comes to virtual worlds are dead on target with that statement. ;)
All Linden Maple trees now have appearance of Oak trees, the Maple tree form is gone. Pulled out Oak tree to verifiy. Maple Tree and Oak trees are now identical in appearance. Maple tree pulled from library objects was the appearance of oak trees. Presumably this is grid wide. Even if maple tree was in place it now appears as oak. What components are involved I have no idea it must be the LL databased some place.
As first reported by Kelindra Talamasca and now on JIRA issue SVC-2137 Several Linden Trees All Over the Grid Changed Their Species.
Photography proof by Kii Lilliehook.
Status: Open
(And yes, I do understand that for people that have spend a huge amount of time decorating their land with correctly themed threes this means disaster.)

Hilarious!
Not hilarious :( The maple tree was a favorite of mine. I’d like to see more species of Linden⢠trees, not fewer.
I know Uccello, for those who ‘garden’ in SL this probably means disasters and collision of eco-systems. But compared to crashing each 3 minutes, not seeing anything, system no longer supported, logins disabled, etc. this is a ‘minor’ one, and it made me chuckle. But I do hope you get your correct trees back soon!
