Revisiting this topic, as it’s hilarious. Voice really doesn’t prove anything, my aunt has an extremely husky old woman voice, and is frequently thought to be a man on the phone!

Also, it sounds like you need to amplify your mic, a usb solution could work, or a powered headset mic if you don’t want to buy an amplifier (a decent one for this application is about 140 USD).

The way a microphone generally works on a headset is it is either unpowered, or uses 3 cables for stereo (or relative comparison through USB, easier to amplify this way as well). Left, right, and a +5v bias to power the mic. I have a shure pg58 and have had to do the same thing, since it’s a simple cardioid mic. I managed to get my hands on a tascam US-144 for 107 USD, but they’re generally around 200+.

Vint, I’m trying to get my voice chat set up right now so I can prove it to you ingame. No Guarantees though, because I’ve tried numerous times and all that shows is one green dot and one green line, and it shows me talking, but no one can hear me.

Otherwise, I will chat with you through IM.

btw.. I’ve read the name of this Allison Messmer somewhere as another possible alt of this girl.. (*#!!mmrg.. where is that link..??) Isnt it strange that the name she signs with is different from the name she uses for posting??
