OnRez is rezzed
July 26, 2007 1:15 amAha. It’s there. Finally. I was already that curious by now. Honestly, after a first quick glance, I must say that I expected ‘more’. Things to do for me:
- Update items to add the category and department that have mysteriously disappeard on all my items. Oh, I pity the ones with +100 items listed! No ’swimwear’ category anymore? Then where do I put bikini’s? (done)
- Confirm that I’m mature. (done)
- Find a ‘this are the main differences between SLboutique.com and onrez.com’ page or blogpost. The short ’slboutique’ FAQ doesn’t really cut it, imho.
- Find a ‘this functionality we added’ page or blogpost.
- Check if they changed anything in their policy.
- Check out what the in-world vendors exactly are, do and offer.
Find out why I’m not listed in the Seller’s List between Vindi Vindaloo and and Vinyl Candour.Nvm. I think I should start highlighting ‘quick glance. *blush*- See if they have improved Selling Reports: can I now see reports for individual items over the last month? Or see which one sold (gave away) best? Etc.
Complain that I want customisation options for my webshop. Tagline, banner, order of the items, … . You know, the usual.Ok. Sometimes I should just keep my mouth/keyboard. My mistake. Although. It was fairly well hidden? ;)- Consider changing all links on this blog to items on slboutique.com as they now only refer to OnRez.com and not to the correct item there.
And this is my shop at OnRez (which strangely enough shows no items found) (which works half of the time). Did you fetch your pair of free Pink Neko Eyes with Paw (links to individual items do work) yet?

mmmm… “no items found” … even with mature filter switched off…
the “tags” (neko, freebie, yellow, tshirt, .. do appear, though)..
sorry Vint.. extend your complain list ???
Veronique, I think ’search’ is broken. As my seller’s page searches for all items by ‘Vint Falken’, it will not work either.
Just try to search for ’silks’ on the whole of the OnRez shop. No results at all. As this is a Second Life shop, that’s not very believable. And when submitting a support ticket, I got this:
Ticket was successfully submitted, but an error occured while routing it: 006~ASP 0177~Server.CreateObject Failed~80070008
I don’t know if that’s a bad thing or I may just ignore it, but it did get through as I can see it. As for commenting on their blog, either that’s not working too, or they have comment moderation enabled (which they should clearly communicate imho) and are doing a very slow job on approving the comments. :p Ow, this so feels like Second Life! *grins*
Stange. Now search works again, but my Seller’s Page or listing all my items does still not work. It does work for Nicky Ree. (Just checked)
*wonders if she did something wrong with the item settings*
Both Dropboxes also say: ‘SLB Dropbox: Requires Update’, but it does not state what kind of update they require.
*scratches behind her ears*
Ok. The seller’s page partly works. Showing only six of my items (one dropbox).
Edit: Now all items show. *crosses her fingers and hopes the ‘all visible’ state is permanent now*
Sheep Launch New Second Life Shopping Site…
The Electric Sheep Company (which sponsors 3pointD) yesterday launched its new shopping site for the virtual world of Second Life. Known as OnRez, and launched with little fanfare, the site really constitutes the migration and overhaul of the old SLBou…
prob was with OnRez itself I guess…
had the same problem with other shops too..
your shop works fine now Vint..
Hi Vint! Thanks for posting about the new site. I’d like to address a couple of your comments:
The names in the seller list are in alphabetical order from left to right. You’re actually between Vinna Rossini and Vinyl Candour.
You do have some ability to customize your storefront. See this new blog post: http://blog.onrez.com/2007/07/26/customizing-your-onrez-storefront/
We intend to make this customization feature more robust in the future, but had to roll out a basic feature set for now.
Also, your comment delayed in appearing on our site because you posted a bunch of links, and Akismet interpreted it as spam. ;-)
@Jade: The customisation options I saw when the blogpost was posted. I shouldn’t have missed it, and searched a bit more thorough. About the seller’s list, I severly *blush*.
Askimet thought I was spam?!! The horror! ;)
I see the links I posted are not working anymore. Should I re-pick some, or not?
@Vint: Couple more things: I’ve fixed your links in the blog comment. That was our fault.
Links to your old SLBoutique items not redirect to the appropriate OnRez item listings.
The way we currently have that featured favorites system set up is that it shows ALL of your currently selected favorites on the home page. All we do is choose an avatar, and all their favorites show up. We’re working on a way to list only a few of your favorites without forcing you to keep your favorites list trimmed just for the homepage. As soon as that’s ready, we’ll put your favorites up. :)
I meant “links to your old SLBoutique items *now* redirect…”
Ok! Thx Jade.
