Itsatrapism = The delusional belief that being a female avatar and refusing to use voice will not be rightly seen by everybody else as you actually being male in RL.

I suppose we could ALL just stop making fun of death. After all that would be tacky since we all will die in real life.... And you know life is not funny at all. It's very serious since none of us get out of it alive...

I've often encountered people with "Echotinittus", an evil malady that occurs when people don't use headphones when voicing.

There is a naturally-occurring phenomenon similar to SLasthma except it's so bad it's called an IM Storm.

If there was a Beaufort scale for IMs, an IM Storm would be about a 10. Anything higher is probably extremely rare and would most likely involve flame IMs too. IM Hurricane territory should be avoided at all costs.

A level 10 IM Storm is quite often friendly IMs that pop up and scroll off the screen to the right within seconds, usually caused by logging on and people all seeing you're online at the same time, just wanting to say hello or ask for detailed help via IMs. :) However, it's very hard to recover from this without logging off and moving to time-shifted communication via offline IMs.

I'd put SLasthma anywhere between 7 and 9 as there is at least hope of recovering from it within about 30 minutes, without just clean logging off and walking away.

SLasthma symptoms can be relieved using a fairly simple remedy that I've invented: offer a teleport to everyone in IMs with you. The result is a split between those who accept and actually get to see how overloaded you are and end up chatting to eachother anyway once they've arrived; and those who don't accept and make up some excuse to end the conversation. Both of which are socially acceptable choices.

As far as new diseases go, I've recently started suffering from Bugaphobia. If I'm online and start to become aware of a bug in SL, such as asset server failure, I can't bare to go through the hope and dismay process, so I just log off.

Clearly, I need a nurse. :)

Well there's the ever common SLaddict. Which, ahem, SLaddiction we all suffer from.

Or the ever dreaded SLagoraphobia or fear of leaving your home SL space. I even recall reading about an avie last year (forget who it was) who had it.
