Can somebody explain me please how exactly we must interprete the ToS and the definition of “broadly offensive”??

Me thinks humans are offensive, can’t we just rewrite the TOS to ban all humans, or give the all the role of blood donor? That would probably help.

Why is it that nipples are considered broadly offensive, yet violence and violent acts, cruelty, etc are not?

Same goes in RL - let a stray booby cross the TV screen in front of little junior and all hell breaks loose. But who cares how many people get stabbed, beaten, or shot.

I really cannot imagine how the violence over the RL animal is not offensive and doesn’t violate CS. Oh yes, I know… there are no bunch of retarded cat parents to threat LL with court of law, so LL should not care. Wrong! There are enough of us to chase them all over the jurisdiction system.

And grr…. yes, animals are food. My human eats some animals. But my human never hurt an animal for any other reason. Especially not for taking a sadistic picture.

Broadly Offensive should mean something which lots of people find offensive. I sure find the idea of needlessly hurting animals to be offensive. Eating them, on the other hand? Welcome to nature.

It was always my understanding that SL fur was force-cloned in vats and no animals (or furries) were harmed in its making. So, no problem there.

Yep, indeed Dandellion, and I think the cat would even make not so tasty food? My human does not eat cat or other meat at all. Maybe that’s why I feel that offended. She raised me to care about animals. ;)

1. Depends on the method of production. Do I think killing animals to clothe our bodies and feed ourselves is bad? No, if the killing is fairly merciful. Humans are still part of the natural world and killing and death is still a natural process. Do I think anally electrocuting minks and clubbing baby seals in order to produce a perfect fur and satisfy some ladies vanity is bad? Yes.

2. Following from answer number 1, it depends on the method of production. If you say in your SL ad for a fur coat “Made of 100% anally elecrocuted minks!” I’m not gonna buy it. Likewise creating an in-world representation clubbing a baby seal is not going to be very popular either. But if you just have a fur coat there, with no clue as to the method of production, I’m just going to assume the fur was magically produced and no animal died in the process.

Being a Neko and not explicitely a Furry, you’ve apparently not ever experienced “Yiff in hell, furfags!”, often accompanied by an image of three dead, skinned foxes. Or even better, several pictures of, what is apparently, frames of a video of a kitten being lit on fire. It is disturbing, and offensive. Welcome to the internet.

Didn’t see this post, but as far as furries come into this…I am one, real life and SL, and it happens…a lot Vint. If you spend a week in furnation sandboxes you get atleast 30 attacks. its been dropping lately though. Theres even a Linden that hangs in Furnation and LAUGHS at teh greifer attacks, thinking tis funny that people are offended…. Lindens are screwed up people…they truely are…

Can we not arrive at a common sense solution? Common sense is certainly not common in any part of the world these days, virtual or real.

Think and see more than just “here and now”. There is a world out there beyond arm’s length, beyond your little sphere of immediate comprehension. You reap what you sow. Always. Sin is pleasurable for a season, but then comes payday. Always.

Just because it does not happen in time to satisfy your emotional state of mind, does not mean it doesn’t happen. It’s karma. It is the balance of nature and things have a way of evening out and self-correcting. Always. Time is an endless cycle of readjustments and corrections. Nature itself proves it. If you doubt this, I refer you to my previous paragraph.

Photosourcing live animals is easy and useful. Killing just to take a picture is stupid and wasteful. Hypersensitivity is stupid and wasteful. Giving a griefer the satisfaction of knowing he upset you and got a kneejerk response out of you is self-defeating and stupid. Maybe the “Linden” is not laughing at the attack itself as much as how people flip out about it. (refer to paragraph 2) I’d laugh too at the silliness on both sides.

I just stumbled across this while searching for a texture, so don’t bother replying. I’ll never see it, I don’t care what anyone thinks.

Just commenting on that last one, the Linden was laughing withthe greifers, I had confronted her and said that people shouldnt complain so much, its just stupid fun.

Also, the linden was standing next to teh greifer during the attack.

I csme across this when looking for a way to stop greifers, (particulalally ones that greif furries / anthros) and found this. I think that seeing a cats head crushed, is horrible. (It nearly made me vomit just reading that!) I think that furries and anthros should have a right to live, on Second Life and real life. (I say this for I am actually tracked down by some people in the world who think that because im a dragon anthro they need me to be destroyed.) If all of the furries / anthros in second life (and mabey real life too) got together, we could mabey do something to stop this harrasment! It would be like a demonstration of our anguish. Why should furries and anthros bepunished? think about it, and the reply.

I CANNOT belive how horrible humans have become. I actually took the time to look through the comments, and saw that alot of people here do not mind the fact of seeing a kittens head being crushed. Imagine if that was your head! Or, if you had an animal as a pet, imagine that on them. Now think to yourself, “Do I really wish this upon any animal?” And if you say yes, then mabey you should be the one with the crushed skull. Because obviously, you have no sympathy, or feelings. Now all who agree with me, join me in the furry and anthro revolution against horible imagery like this, and mabey we can get this to stop! Say yes to put an end to this! Stand up, and be noticed! Don’t stay in the background, be counted! We deserve a right to exist! Let’s do this! Make change! Do what you think is best.
