  1. HTML on a prim is getting ready for prime time - Tao’s Thoughts on Second Life - Tao Takashi after a talk with Callum Linden on where Second Life stands as it comes to putting html on a prim. A must read!
  2. AjaxLife Improved - Living in the Metaverse - AjaxLife, Katherine’s web based SL client has vastly improved. Dandellion gives a good overview of what is added and what is on her wish list.
  3. Free Creature Skin and Eyes - Neko skin and eye texture by Storm Thunders. For use on Second Life Main and Teen grid, and for opensim. Woot! Thank you, Storm.

The main grid people don’t even have to upload the textures - all of them except the eye are in my freebie bin at my neko place. One of these days the eye will be there too ;)

HTML on a prim.. ok.. maybe it will be a big technical achievement when this works..

but… call me ignorant.. what is all the excitement about?
what new possibilities will it bring?

(this is NOT a cynical or rhetorical Prok question.. just curiosity.. what will it do, that now still is impossible by just opening a window next to the SL viewer..??, besides the fact that in this case it will be the avatar, and not the RL person who is browsing??)

Well, I’m hoping for not having to do alt+tab anymore. Not having to upload textures into SL, but fetching them directly from a server (without much code hassle, so I can understand it too), an easy way to have a ctrl+v copyable text displaying in-world, and not in a seperate notecard in stead of a texture on a prim, etc… ?
