Second Life Wikia - What should it say?
August 9, 2008 2:00 amThe Second Life Wikia currently holds 1,843 articles, on Residents, Organisations, Events, Lindens, … . For Vint Falken it reads: This Second Life Wikia Article is a stub! You can help everyone by expanding it! That, Veyron is a very close and good friend of Vint. Veyron enjoy teasing Vint and playing with her a great deal, but then Vint enjoys it as well. and some rather out-dated info. Main editors on the ‘Vint Falken’ article are: Lillie Yifu, Smiley Barry and Veyron Supercharge. Anybody wants to help me out here, and write my virtual biografy? *grins*
Where Wikia is a wiki gathering a lot of gaming content - Second Life is oriented under ‘Free to Play Game Wikis’, not under ‘MMO’s’ - I sort of wonder, what is the use, as we already have our ‘official’ Second Life Wiki at wiki.secondlife.com, currently holding 4,799 articles. Of course, there is even less said about/by Vint Falken, just my SL4B artist statement (with audio file, though). Hmmm. Anyway, why have two wiki’s?

hehe, I do admin of ja.secondlife.wikia.com :). I do it because official wiki only allowed us to make translated contents of English page. I do it as a Mentor scribe role, but sometime we japanese need “location rerated contents”. (Credit card trouble on overses, the difference of law system, etc). So maybe English SL wikia page has some different purpose from Official one.
Heh, well, Linden’s SL wiki is used for the official, dry documentation of the client, LSL, server, mechanics, etc., while SL Wikia is intended to document the people, places, groups, sims, products (that didn’t take off well last time i’ve tried :-/), and more.
In simple words: Linden’s wiki is like science, while SL Wikia is like gossip. ^_^ (Seriously, sometimes it is since we can’t (too tough) use citing for facts. I do try to clean up untrue facts, but as i’m on the teen grid, I can’t for 90% of the stuff. :-()
P.S.: If you didn’t know, i’m an admin of SL Wikia. (Or in my own tailored role, the “Teen Grid Division Administrator”, or “Teen SL Division Administrator”, or my shortened inworld title “SL Wikia TG Admin”.) Woot woot! *Peanut Butter Jelly Time banana dance*
