Vint, thx for your jira initiative on this issue. It is unusual for LL to reverse an announced decision, I have no doubt that the broad support for MISC-1231 played no small role in forcing LL to rethink this.

First, thanks for the JIRA issue, Vint.

Well, i presume the next year we should celebrate the SL5B for our own in an Opensim or something.

Well, LL better do some fixing around here or this will be the LAST secondlife birthday celebration. Everyone will be celebrating the first/second year of Hipihi or something else.....

The policy on the child avatars is BS- they should be allowed just like other communities. We all make up SL, not just the 'window dressing' avatars that look good in the press.

/me laughs on balloons.
Why I am not surprised. Regular adult usually fails to make differences between kids of different ages. As I remember TG is populated by people 13-18 years old. Not quite the "balloon age" but hey, who remembers that. *shooks head in disbelief*

Ha, I wonder wether Linden will do TSL5B too with that ban. If they do, that would make even LESS logic than those -948,757,835,291 logic points below 0 that are currently the logic level of this whole deal. Though, I doubt they're going to throw one here. It was lousy last year, too kiddy-like and nothing interactive was there. Plus there weren't many people, at all. Who knows, maybe TSL5B is cancelled as the "cool kid" doesn't want his mommy to scare off the rest of the kids like she did last year with all those balloons? :-P (Yep, we had TONS. Don't know why. Too many.)

There is no logic, Peter. If lindens were up to logic we wouldn't have this conversation at all, but making a nice celebration.

The kids community is something LL does not want to be associated is. So they are not allowed to display at SL5B, not on a PG sim, nor on a mature sim. That kinda sums it up.

Second thing is that Everett Linden announced all SL5B sims to be PG, although last year (SL4B) you got to pick if you were to display on a PG or mature sim. Policy for this year's SL5B as decided by the SL5B organisers stated that all sims would be mature, so that was a Linden-side decision.

What I don't get: so submissions from the Kids community interfere with a sm being PG? I mean, where is the logic in that?

I never cared much for the Kid community, but what I saw from them is - well - kid's stuff. The vry definition of the Kids community is that it *IS* PG. Or am I missing something?
