Slash Quit Slash
August 24, 2007 11:06 amLet us hope this official anounce will mean the end of using the slash at live music performances in Second Life, so that Dolmere can finally find peace of mind. For those to lazy to even click: in the Client Menu go to Debug Settings and set ‘PlayTypingAnim’ to False to stop the typing animation and typing sound when you type in main chat. Is there also a ‘PlaySnapshottingAnim’ option?
I find myself asking two questions after this blogpost:
- What grid problems are we facing tomorrow - or right now - as you call in Torley to colorfully distract us?
- Debug Menu settings, all fun, but when do we get WindLight back?
It’s just that the next best thing RenderGlow = True really really really confuses my graphics card. Find the flaws:
PS. Although I have ‘local lights’ enabled in my graphics preferences, RenderLight = True still makes a difference. *confused Neko scratching behind her ears*

I think there is something to stop snapshot sound and that say-rotten-cheese smile. I was clever enough not to bookmark it, but I’ll find it. And they haven’t called Torley cause they planning to be bad Lindens tommorow, Torly did it on his own blog, then offical blogger stole the content :)
“quiet snapshots to disk” is what turns off the snapshot sound and the smile. The only problem is, you have to check it every time you log in, for some unknown reason. Yet, “high res snapshots to disk” stays checked even after you log off. Why? Who knows…
you have to check it every time you log in, for some unknown reason => aha. that’s why it was not working for me. *feels dumb now*
