SLelections 2007: SLelection results

July 2, 2007 3:26 pm

Candidate Falken on SLelections:

Ok. When ‘reviewing’ the whole SLelection crazyness I could say: ‘Damned, no Falken administration. *sobs*’. Or ‘I did f*ck up on some things, sorry!’ or ‘Wow! Thank you all for this great response and participation!’. Or do a whole rant on what I would really like for Second Life’s future. Or say that we’ve ’sort of’ made our point. Yet I’m just going to say: ‘Hell! I got to sleep with Myg!’ ;)

Candidate Falken (not to be confused with Vint Falken)

SL's Concerned Residents: Final Letter on SLelections

Dear Residents,

Thanks for participating in the 2007 SLelections for Governor. Before we announce the winner and the new Governor of Second Life, we would like to thank all the residents who participated in this SLelection. Your candidacies were strong, your platforms inspiring, and your campaign posters excellent! You have shown us many excellent paths for Second Life’s future.

However, we had some minor problems with returning the SLelections 2007 voting boxes into our inventory. They were, um, lost. Luckily upon contacting Live Help, the Lindens were able to tell us the following:

“We were pleased to see all the Residents participating in the democratization of Second Life. After discarding the votes of the residents that are not registered with our Identity Verification System, it is clear that the community wishes to re-elect Philip Linden Governor of Second Life. We are very happy with that, as this means we can keep our current jobs in the Linden Administration. Thank you for voting.”

Congratulation to Phil on his reelection. Please note that any protests of election results will be considered broadly offensive and offenders will be Abuse Reported. Despite any discrepancies you may think you see, we stress that this does not represent a change in our position, and we remain committed to the same democratic principles we have held from the start.

The Concerned Residents

And here I was all set to volunteer for the position of First Gentleman. So much for my political aspirations! {:o)

Vint

Thanks for your great work and creativity in coming with this whole thing. I had lots of fun and I’m sure the other “candidates” did as well. Maybe along the way we managed to make a few valid points about how we’d like SL run.

I hope I’ll see you some day in world.

Tyffany

the german guy hereby promises to loyally serve the old/new linden royals, seeing that a few of his goals are already achieved. the essential one, more lag, of course - but as well the withdrawing of the latest client-update, more testing of voice and windlight and so on.
with a little bit more slowlyness SL still will be the spearhead of the 3Dinternet, but with more content users.

THANK YOU candidate falken, for your beautiful initiative - and SORRY for the wonderful snapshot (not photoshopped!) with our JAcard. we could not resist… (and deleted the other, meaner ones we took!) http://2ndtravel.blogspot.com/2007/07/slelections-2007-lieferung-9.html

we all had a great time not being elected!

OMG!
what have we done??? candidate falken feels abused by us (the photo attack…). how i wished we could stop feeling guilty about that! our lawyer says, an abuse report for broadly offensive screenshot-use would be the least that could happen - which makes us even more uncomfortable!
so: what can we do? take back the picture? useless, it already drove around the world via high speed cables! draw a black zorro-mask over the falkenface? maybe a solution, just offering a new problem: the zorro-mask-license-holder would not allow it! install a special seat in the bus, marked with a sign FOR ABUSED AVATARS ONLY? that’s it! /me down in the garage!
we promise to NEVER AGAIN do something like that!
any better proposals?
(post scriptum: any of the readers interested in high res snapshot of beautiful black-and-white avatar-lady wearing whacky hats? please observe our ebay-account!)

You won’t get help from Live Help. It doesn’t exist anymore.
