SLsecret Template - Born to Drama
January 25, 2009 9:56 pmI enjoy reading the real (life) post secret. It’s a colourful mix of huge secrets, bad habits, and funny random facts. I’m less fond of the second (life) post secret, known as SLsecret. This has lately become nothing but a mix of personal attacks, hate declarations and “how to be mean”. I think if you accuse anybody of stealing, lying, betrayal or “being an ugly person”, you should have the guts to sign it with your avatar - and maybe even your human - name. As Raul Crimson says, “it’s empty hate”. I thought the whole idea of it was sharing your own little (dirty?) secrets, not those you think others have?!
But you all seem to enjoy it a lot, and spend a huge amount of time wrapping your anonymous accusations and declarations of hate in a pretty, photoshopped picture. I figured I could save you some time by supplying a SLsecret Template, for easy & quick venting of frustrations. This is an “example use”, the empty SLsecret Template, you can download from Flickr. I hope you will all see this as what it is, a service to the Second Life community, rather than a non-anonymous attack on a bunch of cowards.
Try some “positive venting” for a chance, and take up Winter Jefferson’s blogger challenge, to say a “Thank you!” to the people you admire in Second Life, those that inspire and support you.

Thanks, Vint, for posting about this issue, all that is really empty hate, and was causing also empty hate on me until i posted about it.
Im agree. i read both the postsecrets and Sl ones. I like reading the real SL secrets : ones about personal feeling not trash talk. Personally, I am sick of all the mean spirited blogs period. There is a lot of snobbiness going around.
Thank you Vint for this post. I could not agree with you more. And also for the link, nice to know people are taking a positive road. :-)
There’s not much use in complaining if you can’t suggest a positive alternative, is there? (I know I am guilty of that sometimes too, but I do try to if possible suggest one.)
And Sisou, yes. I guess it’s more easy to have a stuck up easy in a virtual world where it’s that easy to look beautiful & smart, eventhough you’re not. :d ;)
