Summertime… and the Virtual Living is less easy?

May 9, 2008 8:20 pm

In the summertime when the weather is fine
You could stretch right up and touch the sky
Now when the weather is fine
You got women, you got women on your mind
I’m going driving right now to see what I can find

Abandoned NekoLately, the weather in Belgium has been absolutely fabulous - or at least, so does the owner report. The sun is doing just great: it puts a smile on people’s faces again, it’s light longer and sitting on a patio or the likes with a cocktail becomes a more and more pleasant thought again.

Festivals are starting again, friends call to go and have a drink in the evening, pc’s overheat more easily and a swimming pool or lake with a towel and book - or wifi ;) - becomes a very interesting thought.

At least, it’s like that for my human, who seems to cut down on my playtime now the desperately needed sun is back in the lands. And for you, fellow avatars? Does your human plan to abandon you during summertime, tie you up to a virtual tree whilst he or she goes swimming? Or will the sun and summertime not affect them - and thus your playtime - at all?

My human will definitely be spending more time out of the house and *sigh* away from SL. What’s a cute little neko to do? =(

Yes! And I am looking forward to it. Guess we got to the common knowledge that outer time in the meatspace does good for both of us. Or I allowed myself to be cheated?

I intend on spending more time in meatspace while the weather is good. Hmm. There are intentions, and then there is what really happens…

Poor Tobie. Ask if she takes you along? You have little bit less Freedom on a laptop and wifi, but still? ;)

Hmm, Dandellion, I don’t think your owner fooled you, saying it will do good for both of you. As long as you find a good balance between sun and in-world playtime?

For instance: luckely the web stuff are doable from laptop. It’s only the in-world part that I’m strugling with. I noticed last weekend that and sitting outside with friends and beers, and logging in is a strange thing to experience. Saying ‘brb beer’ to the people inworld and ‘brb instant message’ to the people next to me. ;) That and our virtual world looks really crappy on my laptop, if it does not crash at all. :(

Signed,
Vint, sitting in the garden, listening to the local love parade passing by. (No, no nice pounding techno beats, but Dutch shlager music and some nostalgic dance records. The Fly! The Fly is dead! :d)

Hmm, I still visit virtual worlds now. In fact, my little simmy over at The Sims Online got a pretty nice tan… :-P (And yes, we can get a tan. Just need to work a little with the settings.)

Anyway, I don’t really have a reason to go out yet - it’s called “Summer” but it’s still “Winter” in terms of coolness. Pretty cold here, but, not freezingly cold. However, now that my Packet Loss issue is finally over, (THE PACKET LOSS METER DOESN’T EVEN REACH 0.1% NOW!! YEAHHHHHH!!!!!) I may look into some way to port my sim from The Sims Online to SL and play Sims-ey for a while. TSO’s closing on August 1st anyway, so, I may come back then when it’ll be GONE FOREVER. *heart breaks inside to atom-sized pieces and the little kid inside starts to cry* (Sims is my favorite game of ALL time, and I LOVE virtual worlds, so, combine the two and add an ingredient called “Free Play”, and I’M IN LOVE!!)

Josh, be carefull with that! By now I’m suffering from a quite heavy cold. It’s 25 degrees, but I’m setting here with lots of tea and no vioce. :(

Smiley, I can’t wait to see the sim close and have you back full time on SL related stuff! ;)

As for the Grolsch beer, I never understood why someone would pick a name for a beer that sounds that _totally not_ tasty.

@Vint: Traitor! >:-O I’m not gonna be on your grid for another 3 years anyway… :-P Though, when that’ll be, you won’t see “Smiley Barry”, you’ll see “Smiley Linden”. :-P (And by then, revenge will come! >:-D)
