I'm a self-taught user of Photoshop, which I paid real money for. I spent many many many hours making my skins, and then people started releasing the skin bases. Not to mention, people started selling stolen skins and one of the "top skin designers" (cough soulskins cough) is still one of the highest listed classifieds, usually even on the front page of search. Anyways... What I hate most about this is the fact that people take these skin bases and mash together maybe 5 minutes of work, and then sell them for hundreds of lindens. This, along with content theft has almost completely crashed the skin business. In regards to the free skins thing:
