W00t! Boy Bloggers on the block… euhm… grid! ;)

May 9, 2007 12:27 pm

Ok. I know. We have already some men doing - what you might call a good job at - the ‘blog about your Second Life’ thingie. But face it. We girls don’t want to talk about the same thing all the time. And if all your blog postings contain at least three of the following five key words: marketing, business, branding, launch, SLentering (<- some even claim that’s better then SLex! ;)), we might label you as boring after a while. *Right click, mark feed as read.* Except for Wrath and Alexander none of those men actually seem to _do_ something in SL.

I have good hopes that ‘the new guys’ will be blogging about things we girls actually care for like (clothing) design, cute Neko’s, animations and poses, building good looking stuff (which doesn’t necessarily needs to be jewelry or guns), guns, scripting (it may be about scripting other things then guns), exciting new Sims filled with adrenaline kicks, the escort business, community happenings and welfare, gigs, SLFlickr, … . Shortly put: everything that our Second Lives revolve around. (Did you notice I just sort of said that those Second Lifes _don’t_ revolve around being yet another target for marketers on the loose? And do note this down: whatever brand of condom you’re promoting, they sure as hell need to supply us with awesomely good Xcite before they will be able to convince us! ;)

What I actually wanted to say is, I <heart> the blogs from people actually _living_ their Second Lifes (creating stuff or just being good company and commenting on what others create) in stead of standing on the side lines sim edges watching and commenting upon the interesting phenomemon SL is said to be. That’s why I’m glad to see the following men joining our little ‘SL blogosphere’:

  1. Looker Lumet - Belgian, interested in SL photography, hangs out at the Paradise Lost club often. Hmmm… sounds familiar. I think I might be able to relate. :D
  2. DesertWolf Longstaff - I think he might not need an introduction anymore, but here we go anyway: the only person I’ve thinking of a - sort of - reasonable argument _pro_ voice in SL. Congratulations! ;)
  3. Raul Crimson - (Really) goodlooking furniture designer with a love for art.
  4. Gary Hazlitt - Ok, not new, blogging since August 2006 but went sort of blog-dead in Januari 2007. But he promises he’s back. That and he has a hell of an excuse for not blogging for that long.
  5. Kris Constellation - Wellspoken, French, hansom, frequents Paradise Lost and is thinking of looking into the Flickr / LSL relations some more. W00t! ;)
  6. Loki Popinjay - Hmmm. Url, please? I did not write it down. :( And some content would be nice too! ;)

I just wish I could add Andro to the list too, as he always visits such exciting places and has a great sence of humor. And it would be good practise for his English (although that’s getting better each day!) as I’m sure he has a basic knowledge of flirting with girls in English mastered by now. Time to step up, hun! ;) Until then, I’ll have to content myself with his photoblog on Flickr. :(

Thank you Vint, for finding my blog so soon, I only started yesterday, without advertising! It still needs some adjusting, but that will come in time.
I am glad to read that you, girls, are anxious to read some blogs from male SL residents, but already saying what we have to post!? I started with a dose of good courage and intentions, but after reading this, I don’t know anymore.:D
But ok, your wish is my command, we will try to please you all.:)
Thanks for the hints……

Nah, I’m not saying what you have to post. Everything SL related goes, as long as it’s not all about marketing. ;)

Ty, Bella.

Vint,

I hope you’re offering these gentleman membership in the group.

Well I am in the list, but as Vint said, I have pretty much made my presence known by now ;)
But I want to welcome the other guys, and just let them know that the ladies here are a great group and don’t worry too much if they are heavily armed..

Yes you have, DesertWolf.

You’re a very welcome addition, too.

@Zoe: Will do, as soon as I’m on the grid. I assume DesertWolf is a member already? ;)
@DesertWolf, I’m sure you can. You wouldn’t have been in the list otherwise. ;)

Vint,

Yup, DesertWolf is in, we just need to collect the others. I’ve also made Veyron a group officer too, so I know between the two of you the group will be in good hands with a growing number of male bloggers.

;)
