Yves & Elise’s dream wedding at Bruges
September 16, 2007 7:55 amAs avies tend to resemble their owners - a bit - I am not that fond of weddings. So I was a bit hesistating when Yves Welles - a neat fellow belgian avie - asked me to shoot his. I had some prior bad experiences with shooting laggy weddings and somehow I tend to look at the whole wedding thing with a slight dose of irony but as I remembered his fiance to be a beautiful lady and Bruges / Brugge to be a beautiful setting, I said yes none the less. ;)
La pièce de resistance:
Yves and Elise, I wish you both the best and brightest SL future together one can imagine!
The other photographs are in the Yves Welles & Elise Bourne’s dream wedding @ Bruges set on Flickr. I did my utter most best to keep the ‘dreamlike wedding’ feeling in post processing and to not fall back to my normal ‘harsh’ post processing of Second Life photographs. But I’m curious what you guys and girl avies think.
And no, I did not cry at the wedding - Vint does not cry - and yes, I spend ages retouching poseballs / making them vanish in Photoshop. Dear SL wedding organisers, is it that much asked to hide the poseballs when they are not used?!

Great snapshot Vint, love it :-). You did great, no worries :-D.
Hehe, there’s a trick you can use to hide the poseballs without post-processing! ;-D
1. Client -> Rendering -> Hide Selected
2. Select any poseballs and obstacles (I use when shooting in the Sandbox Islands) by holding shift and selecting them — be careful not to select anything significant!
3. Shoot away ;-).
Wow. I did not know that, Smiley. That’s a great tip! Thx!!!
DAMN !! … Great tip Smiley :-)
btw /1 hide will often do the trick too … ;-)
You’re both welcome :-). Though, @Loki:, this is also to hide annoying “floating plywood prims”! I use this when wanting to hide someone’s awkward attachments and some noob houses as well ;-).
P.S.: I’m soon gonna blog about Vint’s victory in the SL Bloggers logo competition :-D. Prepare for a great Umbrella cover! xD.
P.S.: Mind fixing my URL in the comment to http://smiley.duogrid.com so people will see my pic? ;-) Sorry, i’m a tidy-freak in virtuality, not really in reality xD.
Yves worked for me once upon a time when he was a newbie. Glad to see he’s still having fun!
Tenshi, I did not know that. Any dirty details on what was his job? ;)

Well Vint,
I’m afraid there are no dirty details attached. I used to write articles for Tenshi. I loved the job… but then GRENSGEVAL started to absorb lots of my SL time. And we all know the rest of that story. We didn’t expect it to have such a ‘boom’ on SL. But as we know every explosion ends up with a deadly silence … And due to a great new RL job… i’m afraid that’s were Grensgeval is going to end… Maybe there’s still a future for me writing articles again … We’ll see …
Love you all … Elise and Yves
I almost forgot !!
Elise and I would like to thank you Vint, and Looker, for the beautifull pictures you made to remember our most happy day on SL.
You make pictures in RL to ? …. story to be continued … hahaha !
xxx Elise and Yves
Pfff. No interesting gossip. :(
And yw. You did pay us. ;) (Next wedding try to be on shedule, keep to the said details like arriving in a coach and invite less guests with huge prim amounts so we can shoot in better circumstances! ;) But we did found out how to hide the pose balls and avatars that stand in the way, so expect even better photographs. Want me to help you search a new wife? *wants to test those functions out* ;)
